In giuria, c'è il giovane John Cusack: sembra uno smidollato, ma ha una missione da compiere, e anche uno squalo come Hackman faticherà a manipolarlo. Il romanzo di Grisham era un attacco alle multinazionali del fumo: per evitare doppioni con Insider, il regista Gary Fleder sposta il mirino sull'industria delle armi e firma la versione thriller di _Bowling a Columbine_. La trama è serrata, gli interrogativi morali forti, il cast stellare: forse il migliore tra i numerosi film ispirati a Grisham.
