The Rock (1996) in streaming su altadefinizione La gita di un gruppo di visitatori nell'ex carcere di Alcatraz si trasforma in incubo quando vengono fatti prigionieri e tenuti in ostaggio da un'organizzazione di ufficiali "ribelli" dei marines. I soldati sarebbe nobile: pretendono che il governo degli Stati Uniti risarcisca le famiglie dei militari caduti in battaglia e ignobilmente dimenticati dallo stato. Per neutralizzarli, c'è un superesperto chimico dell'Fbi. Quanto a penetrare nella fortezza, c'è solo una persona che lo possa fare: l'unico che sia mai riuscito a uscirne.
Secondo film di Michael Bay ("Bad Boys"): gli spunti sono talmente tanti che forse, più che un film di due ore e passa, ne sarebbero potuti uscire due. Se le esplosioni rinnovano solo parzialmente l'immagine del genere, a tenere gli spettatori sulla corda fino alla fine bastano la presenza di Connery e una sceneggiatura coi fiocchi, azione scattante e divertimento.
