Funny Girl (1968) in streaming su altadefinizione New York del primo Novecento. Fanny Brice sa di essere una comica e cantante di talento. Sa anche di non essere la bellezza tipica degli artisti di scena del giorno, lei con le gambe magre e il naso storto tra gli altri problemi fisici. Con l'aiuto di Eddie Ryan, che sarebbe diventato suo amico, Fanny è in grado di prendere parte a una novità in uno spettacolo di vaudeville, la fama da cui alla fine arriva all'attenzione del famoso impresario Florenz Ziegfeld Jr. Fanny diventa una delle Ziegfeld Follies è il numero degli atti più popolari, nonostante sia stata quasi licenziata dopo la sua prima esibizione sfidando la visione artistica di Flo per il suo numero di chiusura. Fanny lo ama e ama il fatto che lui la ami nonostante la sua mancanza di bellezza tradizionale, ma non ama il fatto che entri ed esca dalla sua vita in base alla sua situazione finanziaria in un dato momento e al suo bisogno di guadagnare quel soldo veloce dal la prossima partita di poker o un affare ad alto rischio poiché sente di aver bisogno di svolgere il ruolo tradizionale di creatore di denaro nella loro relazione alle sue condizioni.
Nel 2016, Funny Girl è stata considerata "culturalmente, storicamente o esteticamente significativa" dalla Biblioteca del Congresso degli Stati Uniti e selezionata per la conservazione nel National Film Registry.
